  • Prototype information

    The first railroad cars were copied from postal coaches and had three closed compartments that could be entered only through doors on the sides of the car. Three decades later the number of compartments per car had increased, but the compartment method of construction had been preserved. The passengers remained undisturbed during the trip, since the compartments could be entered only during train stops.
