Prototype information

The 110: Its Use at Airports. Starting in 1983, the DB introduced a feeder service in cooperation with the Frankfurt Airport from Cologne / Bonn and from Mannheim / Ludwigshafen as part of the passenger network service. "Ihr Zug zum Flug" or "Your Train to the Plane" consisted of three specially equipped "Silberlinge" / "Silver Coins" cars and was usually hauled by a class 110 locomotive in the customary paint scheme for that time of ocean blue / beige.
