Data Protection

  1. Data Protection
Märklin places a high value on the protection of your personal information. Since the protection of data also is very important to Märklin, your personal information will be handled with confidentiality within the limits of the applicable legal regulations for data protection. Your personal information will not be made public or transferred to third parties.
  2. Personal Data
Basically, you can visit our Web site without leaving personal data. Information linked to access to the Märklin Web site is stored with anonymity. An inference to your person is not possible. Personal data is only collected when you make this data available such as part of a form you fill out. We handle your data responsibly and in compliance with the legal regulations.
  3. Data Use
Märklin collects, processes, and uses personal data only to the extent that it is required for the processing of inquiries or orders. Under certain circumstances, your data is shared with third parties involved in the processing of the data in order to facilitate this task. Beyond that your data will not be provided to third parties or third party countries; it may happen that Märklin is obligated to provide your data due to obligatory, legal regulations or that you yourself dictate this. We would like to use the personal data you provide us (example: your name and your address or e-mail address), subject to your objection, which you can state at any time, to inform you from time to time about our products and services as well as new items.
  4. Data Encoding
When you provide us with your personal data, it is encoded with the SSL process (Secure-Socket-Layer). By using the SSL process your data is scrambled in such a way before it reaches the Märklin server that a third party cannot reconstruct it. This encoding process also guarantees that your data are only sent to the server which requested it.
  5. Cookies
Cookies are used to simplify the use of the Internet and to facilitate communication. Cookies are small text files that our Web site sends to your browser and that are temporarily stored there. A cookie only contains data that a server puts out and/or the user enters on request. It thus contains only purely technical information, no personal data. The only purpose of this is to adapt our offer to your wishes as best as possible and to make it as comfortable as possible for you to surf our site.

If you want, you can in general suppress the storage of cookies on your Web browser or you can decide whether or not you want to allow storage of cookies by putting a note on your system to that effect. Rejecting cookies can result in some pages not being displayed correctly in the future.
  6. Consent
By using our Internet pages you have given your consent to have your data stored and used as described above. By entering your personal data you give your consent to have it handled and used as described above.
  7. Information Rights
Of course we would be happy to inform you about the use of the data you have provided to us. You have information rights regarding your stored personal data as well as a right to correct incorrect data, block data and delete data. You can also cancel at anytime the use of your personal data for advertising purposes (info(at)maerklin.de).
  8. Areas Covered / Links
The data protection declaration applies only to the Märklin Web site. We have no control or influence over the design and contents of Web sites linked to our pages, and we cannot monitor how the parties offering the linked Web sites deal with your data, such that our data protection declaration and our area of responsibility does not extend to these Web sites.
