Prototype: German State Railroad (DR) class 01.5, 4-6-2 wheel arrangement, built starting in 1925 for the German State Railroad Company, rebuilt by the DR starting in 1961, late Era III version, used in interzone passenger service between Hamburg and Berlin.

Model: This is the version of the locomotive around 1968 with a pointed smoke box door, missing the side fairing in the area of the running gear as in the prototype, and Boxpok wheels. The motor has a flywheel and a 6-pin digital connector in the tender. The locomotive and tender have triple headlights and are close coupled to one another. Length over the buffers 150 mm / 6".
The 15766 and 15767 car sets go particularly well with this locomotive.

This model is being produced in a one-time series for the Exclusiv program only in 2006.
Thirty five units of the class 01, the express locomotive in the German State Railroad's standard design program, underwent extensive rebuilding and modernization starting in 1961 on the German State Railroad of East Germany. As the class 01.5 these locomotives represented what as technically doable in steam locomotive construction. Several units remain preserved as museum locomotives.
