The firm DHL was established in 1969 and distinguished itself in the American transportation market with fast, reliable, trouble-free service. The abbreviation stands for the first letters in the last names of the founders: Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom und Robert Lynn. After worldwide success, the German Postal Service took over DHL in 2002 and integrated it into its "World Net". Today DHL also stands in Germany for all of the "yellow" package service. DHL uses container trains on routings between the parcel post centers and chiefly in international service, and these trains are often pulled by the fast "Taurus".
