These locomotives with their classic round noses conquered half of the Europe in the 1950s and 1960s. Many different railroads, among them the Belgian, Norwegian, Hungarian, Luxembourg, and Danish State Railways purchased this locomotive, which was built at two locations in Europe under an American license. Anyone looking closely at these units will recognize the heritage: The F7 locomotives from the USA have a very similar nose. Take away the lights, put in one or two large headlights in the center, also take away the buffers, and you have the image of an American locomotive before you. The so-called NOHAB locomotives (from the Swedish licensee) have achieved a cult status among railroad enthusiasts today. Since many would like to have this locomotive model, the GM demonstrator locomotive offers the solution. This locomotive could be seen all over Europe, even in the German Mittelgebirge region, in the Alps on test runs, or transfer runs. Now no one needs to do without the model of this Era III cult locomotive any longer!
