The small locomotives in Motive Power Group II are by far one of the most successful locomotive designs. They were first placed into service in May of 1934 and by 1965 over 1,600 units had been built and many of them are still in service today. The maximum speed was 30-45 km/h or 19-28 mph, depending on the series. The reliability of these small locomotives is almost legendary. Its main areas of use are in switch yards and freight yards, but it also works as an industrial locomotive and in some museums it has been irreplaceable for decades.
