The rational and at the same time careful unloading of cars in steel works and coal-fired power plants has always been one of the great challenges to the railroad car building industry. Two coke tubs can be loaded on the type Okmm 38 flat car. The unloading cranes grasp the containers by the hinge bolts to lift them and the actual unloading process is done by grasping the containers by the side pockets. The containers open at the bottom, thus forming a very careful handling of the freight, which is of importance for high-value piece coal or coke. Three smaller containers are used per car for transporting coal due to its higher density.
